My writing device driven home in a flash

Flash!

I got my drive back . . .

My Flash Drive that is.

I carried it with me for a hospital appointment for an ultrasound and made my way afterwards to the library at the VA Hospital of Philadelphia where I have had routine check-ups and operations the past 10 years.

In addition, the library in the basement of the seven-story being in West Philadelphia has some six computers for us veterans who visit and those being taught how to use computers and the internet. I have taken advantage of the service for years and most recently have used a flash drive for stories I wrote on my computer and transferred to the drive.

Do you know how much it costs to print one page at most community libraries? Fifteen cents. Just think of paying for some 100 pages That’s $10.50. Double that and we’re talking more than 20 bucks and so on, and so forth.

So, as a veteran, I get everything printed for free. I used to simply dial up my e-mail address through Google, but found many of the messages were limited to a number of a few pages. That’s when I dug out four or five of those flash drive devices I had scattered in lap-top computer carriers and old desk drawers.

I have printed out more than a thousand pages over the past year using several different flash drives. I then use a three-hole punch on the paper at home, and place the finished products in folders neatly stored away for future use and reference.

Flash Drive returns home following my latest hospital visit

But I got careless a few weeks ago. I printed out a series of stories I wrote on the Kabbalah, which is Jewish mysticism that I studied and ended up going to Israel and the City of Jerusalem. I was moved and wrote a blog post about the road to Calvary during the spiritual visit . I also wrote for some U-Tube entries as well as responses to a spiritual book by a leading Kabbalists who greatly moved me and the group I was studying with.

I left the flash drive in one of the computers. I tried to call the library but could not get a direct line and eventually went through the “patient advocate” at the hospital. The drive finally arrived in the mail just now and I began writing this in thanks to the Universe for returning the device to me.

I feel blessed and driven with a new kind of flash in my life!

Oh man. I feel the pain of that loss. So happy you got it all back, Michael. I would LOVE to know more about the Kabbalah – having briefly heard about it before. Wasn’t that something Madonna got into a while ago?

You are so right. Madonna studied the Kabbalah and made wrist bracelets very popular.
I joined a group outside of Philadelphia and took the trip of a life-time while attending a conference in Tel Avi and journeying to the Holy city of Jerusalem.
The group was called Bnei Baruch and was led by Dr. Michael Laitman.

Not familiar with this quote but it is most appropriate.

I just added some more stories to the flash drive in preparation for a return to the VA Hospital libasry and the printing of additional pages. Having a lot of fun transering some of the blog posts and other writings. Soon I will have them on paper, on a flashdrive and somewhere in this laptop computer.

Yes, you could say I am commited.
