Universe conspires to relieve my tax fear

Hallelujah!
The Universe smiled upon me and relieved the stress I created when deciding to get my taxes done without paying an arm and a leg for help.

It happened very mysteriously. For some unknown reason, I decided to place my tax papers in my car as I attended to some chores the other day. I went to the library to make a copy for my son’s Human Design chart and I noticed that AARP volunteers had set up tables to assist in tax preparation.
I had tried to make an appointment weeks ago but they got booked up quickly. I also called a group called VITA, the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program and left two messages but heard nothing back from the Norristown, PA office.

For some reason, I decided to poke my head in the meeting room on the second floor that served the Upper Merion Township Supervisors. It’s in the same building as the library and the police department. Some eight to ten professional-looking people were assisting tax-needy folks. I told a woman who greeted me that I was unable to reserve an appointment and, lo and behold, she told me that they could do a “walk-in” if I had my tax documents.

I got down in one knee and blessed her. I then stood up and rushed out the room, down the steps and out the door to my car parked outside.
I felt like Uncle Scrooge discovering he wasn’t late for Christmas and I dashed back in, laid out my papers and let a kind gentleman walk me through the tax process.
I ended up having to pay $321 to Uncle Sam. That’s because I had no taxes taken out of my Social Security checks and I was forced to take a distribution from my Retirement Account (IRA) upon reaching the mandatory age.

My tax fears were quenched and my stress almost magically taken away! (See my previous story: Stress taxing me).

Yes, as the author of the book, The Alchemist, put it so succinctly:

“And, when you want something, all the Universe conspires in helping you achieve it.”

My tax wish is living evidence for that enlightening truism!

I like the humor & gratitude mixed together! Are you using Human Design too? OX

Yes, I am attending my second meeting in Exton the end of this month to discuss it. I got my chart done and am doing research and I also got charts for my son and my grandson who has similar traits as I do.

I find it fascinating and fun but I really don’t know what I’m doing with it yet.…

    Have you gotten into it?

    Human Design, not tax preparation!

You’re a braver man than I am. I’ll pay for peace of mind to let Someone do it who knows how to add.

      Mike,

I’ve always been a frugal kind of a guy and didn’t want to fork over money anymore, particularly when I hear that so many people do their own taxes each year.

If I was rich like some people I know from Cleveland – particularly one Norristown-transplant type of a guy – maybe I wouldn’t mind spending a few hundred bucks for the peace of mind..
