What’s the oldest thing you own that you still use?
This was a question that appeared on what I thought was Facebook but ended up getting onto my Blog Post. The answer to this question was that I still have my “Booonie Hat” from when I was a combat infantry platoon leader in the Vietnam War.
I wear it at veterans meetings and retreats, and sometimes during work holidays if I need to cover my head.

It’s the boonie hat that I wore in the Vietnam War when I served from 1970 to 1971. I have it hanging in my bedroom right next to my television so I can see what my life has been more than 50 years ago.
That hat carried me through the war and allows me to announce how proud I am of havimg my country and the grunts that served under me. No one was killed under my command and that cheers me even more.

Good morning Michael
Your hat surely would be a memory reminder hopefully good memories during those 50 years that if like mine have seem to have flown by !
The oldest thing I have is my Angel plaque in my bedroom, it was given to me from my maternal Grandmother when I was born 69 years ago , She told my parents it was an Angel to watch over me during my life’s journey. Sadly she passed away when I was 2 years old , I do believe she is watching over me and we will be reunited when my time is done here.
Wishing you a very special week ahead, I so enjoy your newsletters! 🤗
