My Favorite Veterans Day Tribute Ever

Proud to call this son-of-a-gun my favorite son!

I want to wish a happy Veterans Day to all veterans. Veterans I know and veterans I don’t know alike.

Today is your day to celebrate and be proud of something not a lot of other Americans have/had the balls to do. I thank you all, whether you are in the Marines, Army, Navy, Air Force etc. for your service to our country.

But I would like to thank one man in particular. This man pushed up his draft so he could fight in Vietnam. He was only 18 or 19 at the time (can’t remember). This man was eventually promoted to the rank of 1st. Lieutenant. At the time, the life span of a first lieutenant in the war zone he was in was only 16 minutes.

He led his own platoon. None of his troops were killed.

I am extremely proud of this man and his accomplishments.

This man is the craziest (by crazy I mean borderline insane), weirdest, loving, caring, most amazing man I’ve had the pleasure of knowing. This man is my father. 1st. Lieutenant Michael J Contos [aka, Contoveros].

I am extremely proud to call this man my father. I have looked up to this man all my life. He’s kept me out of (most) trouble.

He will always be there for me. He will always defend me. Yea, sure we get on each other’s nerves and sometimes I have to keep him out of trouble, but we love each other to death.

So here it is dad, HAPPY VETERANS DAY you old fart.

Hahaha I love you dad. I always will no matter what.
