Day 7 – Total Balance Is Natural Balance
Question 1 of 4Describe three sources of inspiration in your life that keep you aiming to be a better you.
— Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra’s Free 21-day Meditation
I have resisted much of that calling until now. Yet, the pull was always there. All I needed do, I have learned, was to listen to my heart and follow its lead. Writing now helps me to help others if I can speak the truth with authenticity.

The second source of inspiration is what I learned from Buddhist practices. Yes, I learned to meditate and seek peace and calm within myself. It is the path that Siddhartha discovered more than 2,600 years ago when he became the “Awakened One.”
I too want to awake from the illusion of this life and see things clearly again. With aspirations to becoming a bodhisattva, I think I can find the way.

Oprah Winfrey and Deepak Chopra are sources of inspiration for a better me and a better you !

Thirdly, By acting with joyful effort, I believe I can help people smile while understanding we are all in this life together. Spirituality need not be a somber thing that our forefathers passed onto us from dark churches where stiff icons proclaimed the negative aspect of religion. I want no more of the “Thou Shalt Nots” and the fire and brimstone sermons that talked of hell and demons.
Give me love. Give me love with a great big smile wrapped up in a bow that would make Jesus, Mohammad and Moses laugh out loud!
I know it is the way to heaven, just as I know that being childlike is the only way I could get passage through those pearly gates. Get St. Peter to laugh his head off and not notice how a sinner like me could ever get an invite back to Paradise.
May all beings be filled with loving kindness.
May all beings be well.
May all beings be peaceful and at ease. May all beings be happy.
(a Tibetan Buddhist prayer)
The teachings of the Buddha and the path of the bodhisatva are my inspirations. Peace to you, Michael.
