I slept through the night last night.
To me, it’s a big deal for it is something I haven’t done in quite a while. You see, I got prostrate problems. I got diagnosed with it while at the VA hospital and I take medication every night, but no matter what I do, I still have to get up in the idle of the ight and take a pee.
Yeah, I leave my warm bed and shuffle off to the bathroom next door, turn on the light and let it all come out. I’m still have asleep while I’m doing it and I never fail but to wonder how long it will take for e to get back to sleep.
Sleep and not awake in middle of a night
It’s usually 2 or 3 o’clock in the morning when this takes place. I remember staying up this late as a younger man, partying hardy til at least Quarter to Three. Remember that song? I danced to a quarter of three along with Gary US Bonds?

Well, I feel lucky if I can get back to the sandman within 15 minutes. If I get up at 4 or 5 am I am usually up for the next day’s incarnation.
And so when I tell you I slept through the night I am telling the world I feel young again and so refreshed I could take on whatever the day has to offer me. Let me at ’em!
There is no greater glory that a good night’s sleep! 😏💞

I struggle with insomnia every night. I do drink a glass of milk prior to going to bed and it does seem to help. But, I am like you, once I am up at 5am, might as well just stay up. I am just now getting around to reading some of your writings. I enjoy them. I remember posting something on my page, to the gist of, hearing those words……..Me, too. Can be comforting to us, knowing we aren’t the only ones who experience a certain something.

There is something so sweet in connecting with a like-minded person who shares your ups and your downs knowing we all want to help the other find some happiness in life. I feel you are the same as me — someone on a journey seeking answers to life’s big problems as well as the small ones.
ain’t it good to know you got friends? Loving friends unashamed to say “We Love You!”

That is a big deal. My husband had his prostate removed and he gets up several times a night, every night. I hope your problems are not too severe. Take care.

I don’t have to go to the bathroom through the night but I do wake up after a
few hours sleep. And the only thing that helps me go back to sleep believe it or is a glass of milk.
Michael J Contos I might try that glass of milk!

It’s worse in the winter, all bundled up and warm… the voyage to the bathroom becomes a marathon of drama to the mind. haha
Michael J Contos Thank God I don’t have an outhouse!

It’s true…being able to go back to sleep after the inevitable mid-sleep pee is a gift! Oh, Michael, the indignities of aging when we have to pay so much attention to elimination! 😀 ❤

Elimination. I haven’t heard it called that ever before. I like the sound of it.
Yes, aging is something else. We all have to face it and sometime after that, prepare for our last and final elimination from this Earth.
Hell, I’ll be ready for it if I could just get one more good night’s sleep until then!
